Thanks for Miss. Bunny auntie Kate! |
She is also going through a "I don't want to lay down" anymore phase. She just to just melt into you when we were sitting. Now, oh boy now she can't keep still. She constantly is pulling herself off from her back. Literally it looks like she is doing crunches. She just wants to sit. Even in her swing we have to keep it somewhat upright or else she gets annoyed. Such a busy little girl who is really starting to take in her surroundindgs.
Watching Cassidy and Zoey play is great. Brings tears to my eyes to see Zoey light up when she sees Cassidy, how much the giggle at eachother, the fact that Cassidy actually really loves her sister, loves to read to her, color her pictures and protective over her baby sister. Whenever someone who holds Zoey, who Cassidy doesn't know too well, she gets really protective. "Why are you holding my little sister?" "I am her big sister you know." "You have to give my sister back to me." She includes Zoey in everything. I asked Cassidy to go to a movie with me (we saw Brave and it was AHmazing) and she asked if Zoey could come. Or at night time when she is telling me what she wants to dream about, she always mentions her sister. She is such a great big sister. I am just having the best time watching my two beautiful girls grow up.

Just having fun with mama! |
I think to the future and I just can't wait! I can not wait to see how my girls grow up. Just looking at clothes that are too small for Cassidy but way to big for Zoey. Putting away Cassidy's clothes and imaging what Zoey will look like when she is sporting these outfits. Or even just when Zoey wears Cassidy's old clothes, picturing back to when Cassidy was that little. My dad and I had a "Holy S**T" moment the other day. My dad bought Cassidy her first set of pink golf clubs (wishful thinking Dad!) and he was telling me how he is going to wait to give them to her until her next birthday when she turns three. I said not three dad, four. And we both just looked at eachother like..say wha? Four. That is one year away from a whole hand! Just as much as time is flying with Zoey it is with Cassidy too. She is just so grown up now, looking more mature each day. She is beautiful, golden locks, eye lashes people would DIE for (including myself), an adorable nose (if I do say so myself) and rose bud lips! Not to mention an attitude of a 16 year old! My that little girl certainly can pack a punch. Her little hip pop, hand on shoulder attitude. Yep. She gets that ALL from me. But that is okay. As difficult as she may be, I love her so much and am proud to know I am raising a strong woman to be, someone who speaks their mind and doesn't put up with any BS!
Summer is coming to an end (Ian tells me how many days left to labor day every morning these days, lol) and I am excited and sad. I am going to miss the weather and enjoying the outside with my kiddos but I am excited for Ian to have more free time. Nights when he is home is so fun! Watching him play with the girls, having nice family dinners and then just having us time. We try our hardest to keep our relationship strong. And it is hard to find us time when we are working so much and are usually beat by 8pm. He takes me out to dinner usually twice a month (more like three times lately!) and we enjoy a great adult dinner. Man I forgot how much fun dating was! And not to mention, it is so much more fun when the date is your husband! I still love it when he introduces me as his wife :)
I never thought this is where I would be in my life at this age, but I can honestly say I would not have it anyother way. This.Is.The.Life.
