Godparents

In our family, godparents play a huge roll in the upbringing of their godchildren. It is an honor to be a godparent. You do all that you can for that child, support them, give them love, just be in their life. As a parent you pick these godparents to act as a mother/father figure if something was to happen to you (god forbid), they would assume the role of mommy or daddy. I am close to my godparents, more so my godmother. I can always turn to her for advice and know that she wont go running to my parents and blurt out all my issues. I trust her.
Cassidy's godmother is my bestfriend. Cassidy loves her gomma. I was so happy when she accepted it. I think we actually both cried together, ha. But when she did accept my mom sat us both down and said to remember that no matter what happens, me and her have to always remain friends. Always have love for eachother and if for some reason we are at differences never let the child know. That really stuck for both of us. We have had our differences and fights (mostly when younger and immature) but I know that regardless of if we are fighting she will always be there for Cassidy.
Then there is Cassidy's godfather. He is Ian's bestfriend, bestman in our wedding, and he is the same with Cassidy. Loves her and spoils her :) But also makes sure she listens to mommy and daddy. She loves him and he loves her, it really is something incredibly special.
We are in the works of planning Zoey's dedication. It is similar to a christening without all the religious aspect. We bring Zoey up and her godparents and they promise to always be there for the child. The one we had for Cassidy was beautiful, and we are hoping to have the same ceremony except hopefully outside this time! I love planning parties, so I am uber (yes uber) excited to plan this! Ian and I have a lot of thinking to do about everything, but I know in the end we will come up with the perfect choice and another beautiful celebration.

Zoey has really started to show her adorable BIG personality. Her and Cassidy had a laugh off yesterday and it brought me to tears. I never thought watching two little girls laughing at eachother would make me so complete. Zoey loves her sissy so much and vice versa. They are really great sisters and bestfriends already. It's going to be amazing watching Zoey grow up and be able to keep up with her big sister. Zoey is loving the "get the ______ (insert name)" game. Her eyes and mouth open so wide and she tries to eat, okay drool, on whatever she can get on your face! She scrunches up her nose and just starts laughing. Seriously. If that is not the best game ever, I don't know what is.

All these amazing happy things around me. Friends visiting, drinks being drank :), play dates with cousins and friends I really have no time to worry about anything negative (even though its trying to rear its nasty little head). I am just loving the life my husband and I have made for eachother and enjoying the people who are in it. <3
