One Month Today!

I can not believe it! Zoey is a month old today! Where the heck is the time going?! If a month has flown by already, I feel like she is going to be a year old in no time! She is so much fun. She is establishing a routine more now. She goes to bed around 7:30 and wakes up just about every three hours to nurse, wakes up for the day around 7am than takes a morning snooze from about 9-11 and a long afternoon nap from about 12-3ish (if I let her she would sleep through to five, but because of my working she kinda wakes up around 3 when I have to go and get Cassidy from school). It works out well for us. I have begun going back to work more now, three/four days a week. I started when she was around a week old but now that she is more on a routine I am able to stay longer. And the baby bjorn is a LIFE SAVER. Zoey loves loves loves it. She could literally sleep all day in one of those things. I am really lucky to have great bosses that allow me to come back to work with her, I am not a homebody at all. Sitting at home folding laundry, doing dishes...BLECK. No thanks. I would much rather be working. And being able to bring Zoey is a perk! Everyone obviously adores her there, it's funny to see the men with a baby. Some of them don't know what to do around her, they swear and they look at me and say "oh man Sam, I am so sorry." I just laugh, like she has ANY idea what you are saying. My favorite was when one of the guys asked me where I was going as I was walking up stairs. I replied "to nurse Zoey" he just looked at me with the widest eyes and said "With what?". I literally laughed in his face. Seriously? Are men THAT oblivious? haha. Than there is Paul who seems like such a tough guy, but when he is around Cassidy or Zoey he is like a teddy bear. He takes Zoey out of her car seat and just sits and rocks with her, humming songs to her to calm her down if she is upset. How cute is that?! And the customers love to meet her too. It's a lot of fun. As much as I may complain about working, I really do love where I work.

We went to the beach today. Linnell Landing in Brewster. It is amazing. So beautiful and not overly crowded because they aren't very many parking spaces! It is fantastic for kids because at low tide there is a great sand bar and the water never gets too deep even at high tide. Cassidy has been going with her nana and us for years. Since she was a baby herself! And today was Zoey's first time :)
We went with nana, auntie Kelly and Jojo. The kids had a blast and it was so strange to be there for a new year. Last year there were only two kids with us, Jojo was just getting his footing down and not really being able to do too much more than sitting in the sand and playing. Or walking with the help of a grown up. Cassidy was just really starting to try and gain her independence and was running all over the place, somewhat afraid of the water. Well just a year later so much has changed. Jojo and Cassidy were running so fast, chasing eachother, jumping in the water, making sand castles. And then of course...there is Zo! We walked around in the Bjorn (see total lifesaver!) and I constantly kept checking to make sure she was fully covered. Ian would NEVER let me live down giving our 1 month old a sunburn and I would feel totally horrible. But she slept most of the day in the Bjorn or in her little tent I have for her and I really do think she enjoyed the warm breeze and ocean noises.

The one thing I do love about my girls getting older is just seeing them change. Cassidy has so much sass. Even when she walks she has this Cass Swag to her. She sashays! No lie. She has so much attitude for such a little girl, but I would be shocked if she didn't...I mean come on, look who her mama is! Zoey is starting really smile, laugh and coo. God it is adorable. She makes silly smile faces and sticks her tongue out. I think she is going to have a great sense of humor! I love our night time nursing. It is so peaceful. She is starting to reach up and grab my shirt or reach to grab my hand. She loves holding hands. If she is upset at all you hold her hand and she calms right now. Just tonight she fell asleep holding onto my hand. She is such a sweet girl.

I love my family. So much. I don't know what I would do with out them. We may not be perfect, but we are pretty damn close.
