Off the Band Wagon

I promised myself I would not do that, but alas I did. Not having a computer at the moment makes it tough to update my blog. Doing it from my cell phone is a pain. But I will try and keep updating, for me. I wanted this blog to remember everything I promised myself I would never forget. The little things, mostly the good, sometimes the hard but always the fun ones!
Well since I last updated so much has happened! We will start from the beginning:

                                                              HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
The Peter Pan Crew
We had such a blast this year. We always do. Ian is amazing when it comes to Halloween. He always dressed up with Cassidy. How can we forget the infamous DJ Lance outfit last year? And yes he even wore the tights. Talk about being secure with your sexuality ;) Anyways we had a blast, met up with tons of cousins and Cassidy's gomma and walked the streets of PAHK Street. When I was young me, Nadia and Ramona used to walk those streets every time for Halloween, with our dads. Such fond memories I have of those days. Also, having half of my family live on the street meant we got awesome candy, and lots of it! I love that our girls will have some of the same traditions I did growing up <3>
Then came Turkey Day. It was one of the best we have had in a long time. We refused to have a thousand (okay like three) different Thanksgivings this year. It is always such a hassle, we have to go see this person and then this family and then this other family. By the time we would relax and sit down we would have to get up and go again. And not to mention, visiting three families with three different amazing Thanksgiving meals meant a LOT of eating. But this year we went to Steve and Suzies (Ian's grandparents) and had a lovely time. Dinner was great and the company was even better. The boys watched football and the ladies sat and chatted. Zoey hadn't mastered crawling so she sat and played with blocks most of the night and Cassidy had a grand old time with her Pap. Those two together are just something else. So we finished the night off bringing home desserts (in which I tremendously enjoyed a piece of an apple crisp pie, that was to DIE for!).

                                                                   Merry Christmas!

Christmas 2012
Well, we all know what comes next....CHRISTMAS! I am one of THE biggest Christmas freaks, if not the biggest one. My family always said "you must of been Mrs. Clause in a past life". Heck yes! How cool would that be?! Anyways, Ian and I came up with a budget this year for Christmas. No more spending an obscene amount of money just for one day. Doesn't make sense, right? Yah, well that idea went flying out the window as soon as we walked in Walmart. dun dun dunnnn. I have never been shopping in Walmart, and neither had Ian. We were toast before we even parked the car. SO many toys and look at those cheap discounted prices! Hey Christmas only happens once, right? Budget who? Anyways, you get the point. We spent a lot. But you know what, well worth the money. They are only going to be young and believers for such a short period of time. I want to have them remember how amazing it was when they look back. I think of Christmases of my past, I loved them. Christmas Eve at my Aunts house, Christmas Bfast with the Cantos and stockings and chinese food at night. Another family tradition we have been doing with the girls. I of course was up an hour before Cassidy, Ian and I were eagerly waiting for her to wake up and see that Santa came! Her eyes popped out of her head. She was so grateful. Loved everything. Saying thank yous and getting so excited, showing her sister what she got. Zoey was thrilled with all the paper! So we had our typical Christmas activities, presents in the morning with the nanas and Elias, bfast with the Cantos, visited with Ians grandparents and dinner at my dads, the following day we did chinese food and Nannie's christmas with my brother his family and my Uncle. It was a lot of fun, and that night Zoey decided she was ready to crawl. She was off! Tears came flooding to my eyes. I looked at Ian and he had the biggest smile on his face. Proud doesn't even begin to start to explain his feelings for those girls. He refers to them as angels sent down from heaven to him. Daddy and his angels.

New Years was pretty uneventful. Ian worked but was home at midnight only for me to be passed out in bed. He at least woke me up and gave me a kiss, in which I then passed right back out again. New Years, my how you have changed...

                                             HAPPY FOURTH BIRTHDAY CASSIDY!

Dinner for the princess
AH! Wait, WHAT?! Where did my little girl go? Who is this big girl? We went to Bonkerz again for her birthday in which she ran around crazy for hours with her cousins and friends. She had a blast. Then as always we all went out for dinner after. A new tradition we have started for Cassidy's birthday. The kids have fun coloring and playing with each other and the adults unwind (have a drink or two maybe?) and we all talk about how crazy it is that Cassidy is another year older. Ian and I have some great friends/family members that we are really close too. We always have a good time with them. What I really enjoy is that we can all hang out together and it isn't weird. We range from single people, to married, to in a relationship to married with kids, you name it we got it in our "group". Ian's brother James and his wife Lucy have two girls that Cassidy just absolutely adores.

Emily Cass and Alina

These three girls are going to be TEROUBLE when they are older. They are all so beautiful and man can they be mischievous when they are together. Alina is the pack leader as the oldest but Cassidy sure does give her a run for her money. Watching them all grow up together is amazing. They live in Mashpee which seems so far, it really isn't THAT bad, but I wish we could spend more time with them. That family just means so much to us.

So ZoZo is now 9 months old and here are some fun facts I want to remember about her:

  • She has three teeth, two bottom and on top...more to come soon!
  • She loves veggie sticks
  • She loves to get into things she shouldn't, and if you clap your hands or say "hey!" she tries to book it
  • She is seriously the happiest baby in the world
  • When you pick her up she kicks her feet and shakes her hands
  • She is the biggest mama's girl in the world
  • She loves her sister
  • She thinks her daddy is the funniest person ever
  • She loves animals
She is 95th percentile for everything growth wise. But she is porportional, healthy and happy!

Cassidy on the other hand, jeesh that poor kid has my sucky immune system. Or lack of immune system. At her four year appointment it was discovered she has not gained any weight compared to last year. So we had to get testing done. Blood work on a four year old, yah not the most fun thing in the world. She was a trooper though. So that day she got two shots, poor thing is still so sore in her leg from one of them. She got blood work done ( check for celiacs, anemia and allergies) and she has a surgery scheduled in two weeks to get tubes in her ears due to chronic ear infections. All I know is that after all is said and done, she will be much healthier and happier in the the long run. She is being so brave about this all. I am so proud of her.

So that pretty much brings me up to speed. Oh, I started working for my dad and Encore Construction. It is awesome. I really love what I am doing. After being at the boat yard for almost 11 years, I needed a change. I wanted a career. Something that I felt I could really invest myself into. So far I love what I am doing and learning new things everyday. Ian is still busy working at Cpt Parkers and the Squire, poor guy works so much. But hey, what can we do? We are a working family. But luckily when he does have some nights off we spend them together and with the girls. Playing candy land, making dinner together and chasing Zoey around the house. Our life may not be perfect, but it's amazing.
